Washington Redskins fans, young and old, have been flocking to Richmond, Va., to check out the team up close and personal for training camp.
On Wednesday, one of the team’s oldest fans enjoyed the thrill of a lifetime in meeting star quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Georgia Poole was out there on the field watching practice and had a sign with her that said, “Redskins Biggest Fan is Turning 100.” She turns 100 years old on August 26.
When Griffin gave her a visit, Poole told him, “Good to see you. You’re my favorite player. Yes indeed. And looking at you and wanting to meet for so long. You’re doing a wonderful job.”
Later on, Poole asked RGIII if he was tired, the quarterback responded, “Nah, we have a lot of work to do.”
In addition to grabbing an autograph from him on her sign, the 99-year-old was also able to sneak in a kiss on Griffin’s cheek.
