CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 46-year-old mother and her eleven-year-old daughter were found dead Tuesday in Clinton Township.

Police said they received a 911 call around 3 p.m. from the Parkway Village Apartments on Grange Road after a complex manager did a welfare check on two tenants -- Tina Giger and her daughter Chrissy. The manager opened the door, walked in and discovered a horrific scene.

"The adult female was laying right there on the dinning room floor," said Capt. Richard Maierle.

Her daughter was in a bedroom a few feet away.

Detectives said they were both brutally murdered. Some sort of cutting device is believed to be the weapon.

"We have not recovered the murder weapon," Maierle said.

Officers combed the area searching for evidence and clues. A dumpster was hauled away, and the roof where workers were doing repairs, they bagged what looked to be a box cutter there.

"They were stabbed multiple times both of them, and for somebody to do that to that little girl, I'm raged. I am very upset, and I tell you what, I hope the people that did this to them, they burn," said Donna Case.

Maierle said both victims were mentally challenged and there are no suspects.
