Abigail Styles Up For A Forever Home

Posted: Updated:

In "You Don't Mess with the Zohan", the lead character says he likes "…hair.  It's pleasant.  It's peaceful.  No one gets hurt."  And while the same can't always be said about life, we knew Abigail (2000) wanted and deserved a pleasant day and a new ‘do – so off we went with Abigail to Yuki Sharoni Beauty and Life Style in Beverly Hills to be styled by none other than Yuki Sharoni, the real-life inspiration behind the Zohan movie.

And if Abigail looks a little familiar, it's because we featured the-then pre-teen Abigail and her love for dolls more than two years ago.  Abigail, who prefers to be called "Abby", is now more into fashion for herself and defining her own style, including an edgier hairstyle fit for this new teen.  Despite an edgier haircut, Abigail is a sweet and somewhat shy and guarded teenager who feels more comfortable spending time with a few close friends she's established trust with instead of hanging out in a larger group.

Abigail loves music and would like to learn to play a musical instrument one day and when we asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up, she said she would enjoy being a wedding photographer because she loves the elements of a wedding such as the gown, hair, make-up and the romance of it all … and she thinks it'd be cool to be able to forever capture those things in pictures.

And while Abby is blossoming into a young teen lady, there is still a lot for her to learn – from simple lessons in hair, wardrobe and make-up to strategies for dealing with life's bigger waves – and we are still seeking the right permanent home in which Abby can learn and which she would like because (as Zohan would describe) "it's pleasant.  It's peaceful.  No one gets hurt."

This week's Wednesday's Child is another sample of just how strong the human spirit is even in the earliest stages. Samajai (2012) has been negotiating many medical issues since his beginning, including Intrauterine Growth Restriction, Microcephaly, Goldenhar Syndrome, an ear anomaly, hypospadius, a ventricular septal defect, a cleft palate and a rib/sternum anomaly.

This week we want to make a federal case for Joseph (1998) finding a forever family, so we obtained the necessary clearances to accompany Joseph to the Los Angeles Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). And during our friendly investigation, we found Joseph to be a dynamic teen with a good bit of focus and determination for someone his age.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) -- Spacewalking astronauts launched a tiny Peruvian research satellite Monday, setting it loose on a mission to observe Earth. Russian Oleg Artemiev cast the 4-inch box off with his gloved right hand as the International Space Station sailed 260 miles above the cloud-flecked planet. We're in the hazy days of August and soon it will be back-to-school for many children… or the very first day of school for kids like Khalid (2009), who will be starting kindergarten soon. But before he heads off to school, we swooped up Khalid and his baby sister Ah'Niyah (2011) for a day of fun and play at Pelican Pier at Shoreline Village in Long Beach, California.
