Pro Golfer Leading Tournament Leaves To Be With Wife In Labor

Posted: Updated:

Golfer Brandt Snedeker won the Canadian Open by three strokes this weekend, finishing with a 2 under 70.

But his win wasn't what had people talking.

Snedeker took the lead on Saturday after Hunter Mahan withdrew when his wife went into labor.

Video shows Mahan getting the call that his baby is on the way.

Mahan was leading the tournament at the time but decided to leave to be with his wife even though the winner of the tournament receives more than $1 million!

Mahan and his wife later welcomed a baby girl named Zoe, their first child.

Snedeker says he'll be sending Zoe a very nice gift.

The win was Snedeker's second PGA tour victory on the year. He won the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February.
