4-Alarm Apartment Complex Fire Leaves About 100 Homeless

LEVITTOWN, Pa. -

A four-alarm fire struck two buildings at a Bucks County apartment complex Friday night, injuring at least two people and leaving dozens homeless.

The fire was reported just after 9 p.m. at the Racquet Club Apartments on the 1900 block of Veterans Highway in the Levittown section of Middletown Township.

Firefighters were at the scene well into Saturday morning extinguishing the flames and checking for hotspots.

The two injuries were both reported to be to civilians. One was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center, and the other went to Aria Bucks Hospital.

SkyFOX showed large flames had damaged at least two buildings at the complex.

The American Red Cross says at least 48 units and at least 100 residents were displaced by the blaze.

Fire departments from as far away as Warminster, Pa., and Burlington County, N.J., were reportedly called in to help battle the blaze, and we're told they were pulling water out of swimming pools to help put down the flames.

There's no word on a cause at this time.
