CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Five people between the ages of 17 and 28 were hospitalized Thursday night following a bad reaction to a "strong hallucinogenic" they had taken in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

Multiple ambulances were called to the scene on the 3200 block of South Racine about 10:10 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Two young women, ages 17 and 23, and three men, ages 20, 21, and 28, were taken to a hospital for observation, police said.

Police had not as of Friday afternoon determined what drug the five had taken, but it was a "strong hallucinogenic" police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.

Police had not determined as of Friday afternoon if any charges would be filed against them.
