Scientists implant false memories into mouse brain

Posted: Updated:

Scientists successfully implanted false memory into a mouse's brain so now mice may think they remember something that never really happened.

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology say they tagged brain-cells associated with a specific memory then tweaked it to make the mouse believe something had happened.

It's not going to happen to people any time soon. But could some-day treat problems like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
