Study: men work longer hours than women

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

A new study says men work longer hours than women.

But researchers with the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics say those numbers account for women who work part-time.

The study shows men worked fifty-five minutes more than women on a normal work day in 2012 for a total of eight and a half hours for men to just fewer than eight for women.

For both men and women who work part-time, the study found women worked longer hours than their counterparts.

The study also found both men and women with just a high school diploma worked the longest days while those with a bachelors degree the shortest.
