Brush Fire Threatens Homes Near Lake Hodges

SAN DIEGO – Brush fire burning near Lake Hodges caused several residents to evacuate from their homes, officials said.

Crews halted the spread of a 10-acre brush fire off the 19100 block of Lake Drive, near Lake Hodges in the Del Dios area around 5:30 p.m., an Cal Fire official said.

There are no reports of structural damage or injuries, though the flames moved close to several homes. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles away. The cause of the fire was unknown. No other details were immediately available.
