Sexting Scandal: Can voters believe Weiner?

Posted: Updated:

One Democratic consultant says the latest revelations about Anthony Weiner will make it tougher for voters to believe that his sexting scandals are behind him.

But Weiner is vowing to stay in the race for mayor of New York, even though the New York Times and the Daily News are calling on him to leave the race.

Scottsdale, Arizona-based web site claims Weiner had another sexual relationship with another woman.

Weiner admitted to the online affair, but says it happened after he resigned from Congress back in 2011.

Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, was at his side Tuesday, telling reporters that his explicit text messages are a matter for the two of them to deal with and they've since moved on.

"I'm responsible for this behavior that led us to be in this place, but in many ways, things are not that much different than they were yesterday. This behavior that I did is problematic to say the least, destructive to say the most," said Weiner. is not one to shy away from scandalous stories.  So how did the web site's founder, Nik Richie, break the news?

"The girl that was the victim approached Dirty back in April ..told The Dirty about the affair ..we told her we needed more evidence ..scared her off.. then last week, she saw his news conferences running for mayor.. she approached Dirty again.. says she had a relationship with him for months ..they would talk about how he was going to run for mayor... and they were in love .. showed us the screen shots... we decided to roll with this..." said Richie.

"I don't think this is a scorned lover...  I think she just wanted him to tell the truth," he added.

Richie went on to say he thinks Weiner needs help.

So has Weiner and Abedin's relationship really moved past all of this?

"I thought she was very stoic up there... I didn't feel a connection.. like a love connection between a husband and wife.  I just feel like the relationship is forced for political reasons.  I don't really see them being a loving couple," said Richie, who adds that this "standing by your man" situation is very Hilary Clinton-esque.
