22-year-old Morgan Lake is home in Sunderland, Md., nursing cuts and bruises and a sprained ankle and wrist after her car was pushed over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Friday night by a tractor-trailer.

Listening to the 911 tapes of desperate calls for help, she sobbed while recalling the events for FOX 5. She agreed with AAA Mid-Atlantic's call for the National Transportation Safety Board to investigate whether the bridge is safe and whether taller barriers should be erected to prevent vehicles from plunging over the side during accidents.

Lake's parents say her survival is a miracle as well as a testament to her athleticism. Lake is a stunt cheerleader and former track star. She told FOX 5 she is not much of a swimmer, but she was determined not to go out by drowning.

She says she is grateful to the boater who found her clinging to a bridge support and says she learned something from the experience.

"Not to give up and not to take the easy way out, and to find your inner superwoman or superman and fight until you can't fight anymore,” she says.
