DETROIT (WJBK) -

For Tenisha Moore, a quick trip to a Valero gas station near McNichols and Hubbell turned into one of the scariest experiences of her life.

She was grabbing a snack for her kids last Thursday when she said a gunman came at her.

"He [lifted] the gun to my face, and then that's when he said, 'I will kill you if you don't give me the keys and hurry up doing it,'" she explained.

The suspect apparently went inside the store first to size Moore up, then took her 2005 silver Dodge Magnum.

"He did it as if this was his job," she said.

The suspect in his twenties has a thin build and a mustache.

"I lost my leg to a carjacking, and it's like now it's happening to my wife. Every time somebody [works] hard for something they take it," said Damon Moore, Tenisha's husband.

Back in October 2009, Damon was shot three times by a man dubbed the "AK-47 bandit."

The couple is in the process of putting together a flyer with a picture of the carjacking suspect in hopes that somebody will recognize him. They also plan to put up a cash reward.

"He's going to hurt somebody if they don't catch him," Tenisha said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit Police at (313) 596-2555.
