Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are searching for a man who entered two homes and tried to sexually assault sleeping women early Sunday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The man got into the homes through windows about 3:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of South Washtenaw Avenue and about 4 a.m. in the 7000 block of South Talman Avenue, according to a community alert issued by Area Central detectives.

Police describe the suspect as a black man between 19 and 25 years old, between 5-foot and 5-foot-7, and weighing 150 to 190 pounds.

He has brown eyes, short black hair and a medium to dark brown complexion, the alert said. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants.

Police advise residents to close and lock doors and windows at night, and to never pursue a fleeing assailant.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 747-8380.
