Neighbor's dogs break in, kill cats in Douglas Co. home

Posted: Updated:
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. -

A Douglas County family is trying to cope after their two cats were killed.  Police say dogs from a neighbor's house broke through their second-story screen door, and attacked and killed the cats before turning on the homeowner.

The homeowner, Pati McMahon, tells FOX 5 she locked herself in the bathroom and called for help.

The dogs were taken to Douglas County Animal Control, and they will be euthanized.  The owners were given citations, and will be required to appear in court.
