PHOENIX -

A local business owner has stepped up to help out a victim of the Yarnell Hill Fire. He gave her a car.

The woman says she has had a hard time getting help because she doesn't have family. It's just her and her dog. But today that changed when the owner of a bike shop gave her the car he used to start his business.

Friday, the woman, who decided to remain anonymous, took her last bus ride.

She lost everything, but Friday received a car to call her own.

"It's almost unbelievable."

The middle-aged fire victim called Hybikes to ask about prices on their electric models. When she said she lost her car in the fire, owner David Smedstad offered her something with four wheels.

"He said well maybe I have something else I can offer you."

"I said, you know what I have, a vehicle that we're going to probably be getting rid of pretty soon, and it's an old work vehicle… but it might help you out a little bit better than bike might at this point," says Smedstad.

The woman also lost her job at a store that burned down. The car will help her find employment in Phoenix.

"Getting around for my interview, going to the grocery store, just stuff, just life that you just take for granted."

After signing over the title, David got a well-deserved hug.

"She just kept whispering in my ear ‘thank you thank you so much you really don't know how this is going to help me out so much and change my life,'" says Smedstad.

Now the woman and her Doberman are on the road to rebuilding their life.

"If I can be a little bit of a support to her and put a little bit of sunshine back in her day through this dark time that she's going through, then you know it makes me feel absolutely fantastic as a human being."

David even filled the tank all the way up.
