Police investigate possible hate crime against boy running lemonade stand

Posted: Updated:

Was a 12 year old boy running a lemonade stand in Fairfax County the target of a hate crime?

That's what police investigators are trying to figure out.

The Washington Post reports the boy and a sibling were running the stand in the courtyard of the Camden Monument Place apartments on Monument Drive back on July 6th.

Apparently a person wearing an outfit to conceal their identity approached the boy and threw a balloon believed filled with urine at him.

The person went back inside one of the complex's buildings.

The boy then said he heard the person yell a racial expletive.
