A U.S. citizen living in San Luis, Mexico, was arrested after he tried to walk across the border with meth and heroin. Customs and Border Protection officers referred 22-year-old Felipe De Jesus Gomez for an additional inspection when he tried to cross at the Port of San Luis through the pedestrian lane. CBP says a narcotic dog detected the drugs and officers found them strapped to Gomez' thighs. More than a pound of meth and a quarter pound of heroin worth an estimated $24,134 were seized before they could be smuggled into the US.
Gomez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
