What's it like to grow up with a father who is the world's most famous pro wrestler? Just ask Brooke Hogan, the 25-year-old daughter of iconic wrestler Hulk Hogan.
"I was always a tomboy," Brooke admitted. "My dad wanted a workout partner when I was 13. I'd go down there and pump iron with him."
Family friends had names like Macho Man, Brutus Beefcake, and Nasty Boys. Brooke took piano and voice lessons and became a singer -- which was fine with Hulk, who tried to steer her away from the wrestling ring.
"I did everything I could to keep her out of this business," said Hulk.
But it hasn't worked out that way.
THE FAMILY BUSINESS
On this night, Brooke would prance down a catwalk in high heels in front of thousands of wrestling fans. The script was already written.
"I'll be on the big screen and tear my shirt off," said Brooke.
"You won't do it now?" I ask.
"You gotta pay money for that baby," laughed Brooke.
She's part comedienne and not shy in the wrestling spotlight with her famous father. Both Hulk and Brooke now work with Impact Wrestling, on cable nationwide. They play out the storylines that are at the heart of pro wrestling.
SAY IT AIN'T SO
One of the stories had Brooke marrying pro wrestler Bully Ray in a ceremony held in the wrestling ring. Was Hulk upset with his daughter's nationally televised marriage?
"Lloyd, has anyone ever told you that wrestling is fake?" he deadpanned .
Hulk says, in real life, Brooke is dating a Dallas Cowboys football player, but she won't say who the player is. It allows for a little bit of privacy, which has been in short supply for the Hogans, who appeared in their own reality show called Hogan Knows Best.
WHEN REALITY IS REALLY REALITY
But reality was much more real for the Hogans as they made headlines in recent years.
"Everyone knows about the craziness my family went through," said Brooke.
Her brother Nick was involved in a tragic car crash that left a friend seriously injured. Hulk and his ex-wife Linda went through a messy and well-publicized divorce.
"When kids are younger, they get tugged in really hard directions when their parents don't get along," says Hulk.
But, he says he's now closer to his kids than ever.
"It made my father and I have a stronger bond for sure," offered Brooke.
Brooke's role in the wrestling show is manager of the Knockouts, the show's group of female wrestlers. It involves a lot of on-camera work in the storylines, but she's not wrestling.
"So I don't have to worry about her getting hurt," continued Hulk. "It's turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I get to spend a lot of time with Brooke."
In this case, the Hogan that knows best may be Brooke, who took up the family business after all.
"There was a little bit in me that I wanted to prove to my dad that I could tackle this too," she added.
