Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

UPDATE:

Caltrans officials say two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 reopened late Monday afternoon, giving at least some relief to commuters in badly backed up traffic.

The rest of northbound I-5, along with two of the four southbound lanes were expected to remain closed until Tuesday

The tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline overturned Saturday and caught fire. The fire badly damaged an underpass beneath I-5 that connects to State Route 2 near the northeastern suburb of Glendale.
