Mothers Use Public Humiliation To Discipline Sons

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -

The mothers of two Oklahoma teenagers handed out public, and hot, punishment after their sons were caught sneaking out of their homes.

"I wake up at 3:45 and there are three police officers with these two boys and they like two or three miles from the house, chasing some girls," describes Holly Scoggins, mother of one of the boys.

Holly Scoggins and Amanda Hancock had their sons standing on a street corner in Skiatook, holding signs reading, "I think I'm grown so I snuck out and the cops took me home," and "I'm a follower, peer pressure got me a ride home from the cops."

Scoggins said the boys were spending the Friday night at her home when she went to bed about midnight and locked her doors. She says she was awakened by police bringing both boys to her home about 3:40 a.m. Saturday.

She says her son has a lot going for him and she doesn't want him to ruin it with one bad decision.

The boys held the signs for about six hours as the temperature peaked at 94 degrees.
