Posted: Updated:

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Lower Gwynedd Township Police Chief Paul Kenny have announced that an arrest warrant has been filed for Joseph Patrick Franzone, Jr.

Franzone has been charged with theft and other related offenses after he allegedly crashed a local wedding reception and stole thousands of dollars worth of wedding gifts.

On July 7, police responded to the report of a theft at the William Penn Inn.  Surveillance video captured a family member of the newlyweds moving the gifts from the Inn to a parked car outside the venue.

A short time later, it was discovered that the gifts were stolen from inside the car.  The stolen gifts were value between $3,000 and $5,000.

After still photographs were released of the alleged thief, calls came into police.    Investigators learned that the identity of the man was Joseph Franzone, Jr.  It turns out that Franzone had borrowed his girlfriend's car on Sunday, July 7th.   The car was searched and two envelopes from wedding guests were found inside of the car.

As a result of this investigation, an arrest warrant was issued.  Anyone with information is requesting to contact Lower Gwynedd Police at 215-646-5303.
