Local Kid Chefs Visit White House & Cook Up Healthy Dishes

Posted: Updated:

Last Tuesday, junior chefs from across the nation took center stage at the White House for the 2nd Annual Kids State Dinner Luncheon.

Each of the participating 54 kids created winning recipes as part of a healthy lunch contest to support First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" initiative.

More than 13,000 children entered! The lucky winners got to meet the first Lady and even President Obama!

Two of those winning chefs are from our area and they were on Good day this morning!

Ganesh Selvakumar is  from Broomall, Pennsylvania and Braeden Mannering is from Bear, Delaware.

Ganesh made his Lentil Spinach Soup with Mint chutney and Braeden whipped up his signature Tortilla Bowl Deluxe.

Check out the clip to see pictures from their White House visit and how to make their award-winning, healthy dishes.

CONGRATS!
