Dust in Casa Grande, rain in Flagstaff, and hail in Heber... a day of wild weather in Arizona.

Just after 4 p.m., we heard of a dust storm south of the valley moving north, and hit the road.

According to the National Weather Service, strong thunderstorms near Tucson produced a gust front with blowing dust, which moved north towards Casa Grande, Gila Bend, Coolidge, Florence. It impacted visibility on Interstates 8 and 10.

Earlier Wednesday, a blowing dust advisory was ordered for Pinal and southwest Maricopa County, and a thunderstorm warning was ordered for Pinal County. Both advisories have since expired.

The past 7 days, we've had an average dewpoint of 55 degrees. But today, the dew point was 64 degrees. Raindrops fell near Picacho Peak, but it wasn't enough to drench things.

Meanwhile, Flagstaff was pounded with rain, and Heber, located in eastern Arizona, received 1-inch sized hail.

If you encounter blowing dust while driving, pull all the way off the roadway and put your vehicle in park. Turn all your lights off and keep your foot off the brake pedal.
