GLEN BURNIE, Md. -

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Association (MVA) is offering a free mobile app that will allow consumers to view waiting times before they come in.

The new app called "Maryland MVA Wait Times" features the current waiting times at the MVA and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations. This includes how many people are waiting for a specific service.

“We want to make your transactions at the MVA as easy and convenient as possible,”  MVA administrator John T. Kuo said in a statement. “With new wait time apps, you can check when and where to complete any MVA business you need at the most convenient time for you.”

Consumers with ios devices can download the app through iTunes and android devices through the Google play store.

The app also includes an exterior camera shot of the stations allowing viewers to see the cars outside.

Before checking the app, the MVA encourages customers to refer to its website to see if the transaction can be completed online. Many services are available online such as, change of address and license renewals.

The L3 Company provided the app to the MVA for free.
