YARNELL, Ariz. -

Seeing the town of Yarnell had to be a real shock for a lot of people driving through their neighborhood for the first time Monday.

Some of the homes were in a lot better shape than others. The fire damage was really random in some parts of Yarnell.

Here you can see one side of the street is burned out, while the other is fine.

SkyFox got video of people making their way back to their homes after more than a week of grief and worry. The people of Yarnell were checked at a checkpoint and allowed back into their town.

What was going through their minds as they drive slowly through? What were they thinking? Since most of the town is standing, were they hopeful?

But as they continued their drive, the awful truth is everywhere around them. It's almost a moonscape.

We watched someone in a black truck slow down at a driveway. Is the home alright? Maybe, but it's not theirs, so they drive on.

They pulled into their driveway. Look at this piece of property with the boulders, the trees, maybe a small creek running behind it. It must have been so beautiful here, but now?

Still, all any of these homeowners have to do is look up on the hill behind them where a small clearing has been cut, where a flag has been raised, and they know their loss is nothing compared the 19 men who lost everything here.
