ATLANTA -

A woman is under arrest for the traffic death of a driver after a crash on the Downtown Connection in Midtown Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Departments tells FOX 5 News that 58-year-old Sandra Cottles was behind the wheel of the vehicle that caused another car to spinout and flip, throwing two passengers out in the process.

Police say Cottles rear-ended the victim's car while traveling in the northbound HOV lane on the Downtown Connector just south of the 17th Street Bridge.

The driver of the car died at the scene. The two passengers were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Officials have not yet released their names.

Cottles remained at the scene. She was uninjured. She was booked into the Fulton County Jail and charged with Homicide by Vehicle 2nd Degree and Failure to Maintain Lane.
