The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled that the cause of death of a 17-year-old high school student, whose body was found along with that of a U.S. Army recruiter, is undetermined.

Montgomery County Police say Wednesday that the death of the recruiter, 31-year-old Staff Sgt. Adam Anthony Arndt, on April 8 in his Germantown home was ruled a suicide by the medical examiner. Police had believed that Arndt shot Michelle Lynne Miller, a senior at Rockville High School, and then killed himself. Officers say both died of a single gunshot wound.

Miller was signed up to enter the Army Reserves after graduation.

Police say the medical examiner issued the ruling on June 28. Officers say their investigation into the incident has concluded.
