Music students from the “James Brown Family Children Foundation” paid tribute to the "Godfather of Soul” Thursday on the FOX 5 Morning show.
The foundation is a non-profit organization benefiting and educating the poor, following what James Brown has started.
It began in April of 2007 in North Carolina after Brown’s passing. His daughters Deanna Brown Thomas and Dr. Yamma Brown created the organization to carry on their father’s legacy.
Its mission is to advocate upcoming and current music programs helping students pursue their musical aspirations. They also offer scholarships, internships, mentoring and music education.
Donations can be done online through their “Blessing Chest.”
