CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are alerting residents of the North Side West Ridge area of a sexual assault that occurred two weeks ago after a man broke into the victim's home in the early morning hours.

About 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, the attacker got into the victim's home in the area of West Albion and North Fairfield avenues by tearing off the back door screen, the police alert said.

The man then entered the victim's bedroom, where he sexually assaulted her. He demanded money from the victim and forced her into the closet before fleeing the scene.

The attacker was described as a Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old, 5-foot-11 to 6-feet tall, with a heavy build, a tattoo on his right arm, and he speaks with an accent.

He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with a red accent and dark-colored pants.

If anyone has any information about this crime or the suspect, they are asked to contact Area North detectives, at (312) 744-8200.
