Bicyclist recovering after struck by stray bullet

Posted: Updated:

A man shot on his bicycle in Herndon is expected to survive.

At last check he was in stable condition.

Herndon Police say 49-year old John Albers accidentally discharged his handgun as he was loading it in his home Saturday night.

The bullet went right through his front window and hit the man who happened to be riding his bike down the street at that exact moment.

It appears to be a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
