Mayfair to implement new security plan following sexual attack

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

39th Ward Alderman Margaret Laurino and other community leaders held a meeting Friday to discuss safety plans after a woman was sexually assaulted near the entrance to a CTA Blue Line Station in the Mayfair neighborhood.

Laurino's office says a new security plan will be put into place on June 24, which will include increasing the lighting and wattage in the area, trimming the trees, and installing a surveillance camera.

Signs will also be posted letting people know that the area is under surveillance.

The female victim was attacked Monday night on a landscaped path connecting the 4500 block of Agatite Avenue to the 4500 block of Montrose.
