Woman feels 'violated' in bra-shaking search

Posted: Updated:
LAKELAND (FOX 13) -

A traffic stop in Lakeland turned out to be anything but routine for one woman.

Dash cam video shows a Lakeland police officer, asking the woman to shake out her bra on the side of the road.

Zoe Brugger was initially pulled over for having a broken headlight.

She said when she didn't have a valid driver's license on her, the officer's whole demeanor changed.

"He asked me to get out of the car and asked me if I had anything on me. I said no. He said, 'Well, can you turn your pockets out and can you pull your bra out and shake it?' I did that and he asked me to do it again and just really flip out the underwire part and make sure that nothing else could be in there," Brugger said Thursday.

Lakeland Police Department is conducting their own internal review into the incident.

The officer, Dustin Fetz, is currently on paid administrative leave.
