Local Sopranos Actor Remembers Gandolfini

Tony Soprano was TV's toughest mob boss, but people touched by the star will tell you, James Gandolfini, the man behind the mobster, had a huge heart.

"Generous with his time donation and doing stuff for people on set of Sopranos. Very happy to be where he was; and felt he needed to give back," describes Stink Fisher.

Stink Fisher appeared as Warren in three episodes of the Sopranos. Gandolfini may have been a star of the HBO show, but Fisher says the fellow New Jersey native remained humble, even took time to share acting advice.

"Appreciate what you have because you never know. The acting business is so bizarre and so temperamental," Gandolfini told Fisher. "You can have all the talent in the world, but if you're not in the right place at the right time, its not for you and doesn't happen."

Gandolfini won 3 Emmy's for his lead role in the Sopranos.

Some of his most recent work includes co-starring in "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Killing Them Softly."

But the 51-year-old actor will forever be remembered as the tormented mobster who headed the Soprano family.

"I'm very fortunate to be a part of that in a small way and I know those folks are hurting right now; hurting a lot. They lost a buddy and a dear talent and a dear friend," says Fisher.
