Pasadena, CA -

It is a National Historic Landmark and iconic to Southern California, but up to now no one was allowed inside the Rose Bowl Stadium for a public tour. Starting this weekend, fans can get a behind-the-scenes look.

The tour takes a look back at the stadium's 90 year history.   Visitors will be able to see the field , locker rooms, post-interview room, and the newly renovated premium-seating pavilion.

Tickets can be purchased at the stadium when available Or at the Rose Bowl Stadium Official Website.

They are $17.50 for adults, $14.50 for children

Thursday through Sunday

In advance of the first public tours in the 90-year history of the Rose Bowl Stadium, Bob DeCastro had a unique opportunity to get a special behind-the-scenes look at the newly restored National Historic Landmark. Including, the recently rediscovered original locker room from 1922 and Rose Bowl memorabilia and artifacts, many unearthed during the renovation.

Public tours begin June 22 and mark the first time the Stadium has provided this kind of access to the general public.

Modeled after the Yale Bowl and designed by architect Myron Hunt, whose other buildings included the Huntington Art Gallery and the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, the stadium held its first Rose Bowl Game in 1923. In addition to hosting the "Granddaddy of Them All" - the annual Rose Bowl Game - and UCLA home football games, the Stadium has hosted three BCS national championship games, five Super Bowls, two World Cups (the 1994 men's finals and the 1999 women's finals) and events in two Olympics.
