Cat wounded by arrow; AA police investigating

Posted: Updated:

Anne Arundel County police say a cat is recovering after being shot in the shoulder with an arrow.

Police say the cat, named Xena, was found Wednesday by a homeowner in the Davidsonville area.

The animal, estimated to be around 2 years old, was struck through the left shoulder with a roughly two-foot-long arrow. Police say they don't know who shot the arrow or where it occurred.

Police say animal control workers took custody of the cat. She was treated at a veterinary hospital and is making progress at Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, a rescue group that will try to find a new home for the animal.
