NASA, White House ask for your help hunting asteroids

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

You can help NASA decide which asteroid the newest astronauts should visit.

NASA and the White House want your help finding space rocks that pose a threat to earth and humans.

They're expected to make the announcement Tuesday as part of the Grand Challenges series.

NASA is looking for an asteroid that will come close to the earth and moon in the early 2020s.

It already has several possible targets.

Once chosen, a spacecraft would attempt to capture the asteroid and redirect it to an area where astronauts could explore it.
