A day after burying their daughter who was killed in a hit and run accident on the Beltway, a Clinton Maryland couple is asking for the public's help to find the person responsible.
Levi and Kim Martin say investigators don't have a lot to go on, but a passing motorist may have some valuable clues.
Police say 22 year old Tiara Jackson lost control of her blue, Chrysler Sebring on the outer loop, just south of Ritchie-Marlboro Road at 1:45 a.m. on June 8th.
"They say she hit a guardrail, and then for some reason, got out of her car, and wandered into the traffic. She was struck at least two times from what we know," Levi Martin says.
Tiara's body was unrecognizable. She was positively identified by DNA three days after the hit and run drivers struck her and fled.
"To just leave her there like that is so disheartening. Someone had to see something, or maybe someone knows something. They have to come forward and share those things," Kim Martin says.
Tiara was supposed to start Dental Hygiene School the day of the accident, and now her dream will never be realized.
"I didn't get to say goodbye to my baby. I didn't get to give her a last hug. I didn't get to tell her I love her one more time. All of that was taken from me," Kim says.
While investigators search for the drivers who hit Tiara, Levi and Kim will focus on raising her son, Princeton.
"The only thing that's getting me through the day is that little guy. I get up in the morning because I know he needs me, “she says.
Investigators at the Maryland State Police Forestville Barracks are in charge of this case.
