CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police have issued an alert to warn residents of the South Side New City area about a man who exposed himself to two young children on their way to school Thursday morning.

The incident happened about 7:20 a.m. in the 5200 block of South Loomis, the alert said.

The man, driving an older model black Chevrolet Blazer, drove up alongside the children, then exposed and fondled his genitals while near them. He then slowly followed the children as they walked to school, before driving away. Police are classifying the incident as sexual exploitation of a child.

The suspect was described as a 30-35-year-old white man with spiky gray hair and no facial hair. He was wearing glasses and a blue T-shirt.

Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
