Wildwood Approves Saggy Pants Ban On Boardwalk

Posted: Updated:
WILDWOOD, N.J. -

Officials in Wildwood, New Jersey, home to one of the most popular shore boardwalks, just voted this evening on what can be worn.

The new law bans pants that sag more than three inches below the waist. Shoes or sandals must also be worn on the boardwalk at all times. Guys must wear shirts between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Women must cover their bikini tops too.

Fines for first time violations go from $25 to $100. Subsequent violations could cost the offender as much as $200 dollars.

Wildwood Mayor Ernest Troiano Jr. says that they're not trying to be jerks and will ask people nicely to adhere.

Fines will only be applied if violators don't listen and become belligerent.
