FOX 5 Sports was recently honored by the National Football Foundation's Atlanta Chapter with their Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award.  While we are grateful for that recognition, we feel somewhat awkward being recognized for something we absolutely love to do-- and that is covering our high school football, HIGH 5 AND IN YOUR FACE STYLE!

My colleagues and I in the FOX 5 Sports Bunker understand that football at the local level-- at our high schools-- is what binds us as a community every Friday night.   For whether or not you've ever strapped on a helmet, you remember what the Friday nights of your youth felt like.   I certainly have never gotten it out of my system!    The lights.   The energy.    Fall Friday nights in Georgia-- there is no substitute, is there?!

And that's what we're all about at FOX 5 Sports, and we want to thank our loyal audience for recognizing that-- you are all part of the High 5 Family.

Everyone knows that it matters not whether the kids we cover today go on to play in the NFL, college or arena ball, sooner or later they move on to become policeman, salesman, husbands, fathers and, dare we say, coaches!    But what we'll all have in common are those Friday nights when the world revolves around your stadium and your little community, and the lessons learned every week that we carry with us for the rest of our lives.

Therefore, we thank YOU ALL for what YOU do in the communities to support the schools, cheer on the teams, band members, and teachers.

While our team has been generously recognized, we are and continue to be committed to supporting yours.   The kids.   The coaches.   The schools and everything that makes Friday nights in Georgia so special.   What we do truly begins with you!

BTW..   just over two months before the start of another High5 Sports campaign.   HAVE AN IN YOUR FACE SEASON!
