CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are asking for the public's help locating a 12-year-old boy who went missing from the Humboldt Park neighborhood Sunday.

Hector Roman was last seen at his home in the 3900 block of West Potomac Avenue about 12:30 p.m., according to a missing person alert from Chicago police. He was leaving his home to look for his bicycle, which was reportedly stolen the day before, according to the release.

Hector is described as a 5-foot-6, 180-pound Hispanic boy with brown eyes, a medium complexion and black hair in a short Afro style. He was last seen wearing black and gray pants, blue Nike shoes with red laces and a gray T-shirt with a blue collar and the words "Puerto Rico" on the front, police said.

Anybody with information about Hector's whereabouts is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
