Federal program to offer free meals to kids this summer

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

School districts across the Detroit area will be providing free summer meals to any child between the ages of 2-18 through the Summer Food Service Program, a federally subsidized program created to ensure all children continue to receive nutritious meals during the summer.

The program begins in June across the area and runs throughout the summer.
