Pedestrian remains in critical condition after crash

PHOENIX -

A man remains in critical condition after he was hit by a car near 43rd and Olive Avenues Sunday night.

Glendale police say the driver was headed westbound on Olive when his vehicle hit the man crossing the street.

We're told the female driver did stay at the scene and didn't seem to be impaired.

The victim is described as a 34-year-old man.

51st Avenue through 47th Avenue will remain closed during the investigation.

Speed does not seem to be a factor for the crash.

"No wrongdoings that we can determine at this time," said Sgt. Jeff Turney.  "Just traveling westbound and by the time she saw the individual, he was in front of her.  She tried to stop, but couldn't stop prior to hitting him."

No names were released in this case.
