Operation Gratitude, Southeast Ford Dealers team up to drive for troops

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Southeast Ford Dealers are teaming up with Operation Gratitude to "drive" for members of the military, and you can be a part of it.  Ford dealers across the southeast will host a four-day, test-drive fundraiser later this month, and they hope to donate as many as 5,000 care packages to the U.S. military.

For everyone who takes the a new Ford vehicle for a test drive at any Southeast Ford Dealership between June 13 and June 16, funds for one care package will be donated to Operation Gratitude.   The care packages will be distributed to a wide variety of military members.

Care packages will include snacks entertainment items, personal letters of appreciation and other needed items.  They are sent to deployed military members, their families, care givers, veterans, first responders and Wounded Warriors through Operation Gratitude.

In addition to helping raise the funds for the care packages, drivers will be able to create a personalized message to a service member, which will be donated on their behalf.

The four-day event will feature many vehicles from Ford's line-up, including the Fusion, Escape, and the C-MAX.  Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver's license to participate. All test-drives will last approximately 7 – 10 minutes. For a list of dealership locations and hours of operation, please visit www.ShopFordNow.com.

It is a debate between what type of technology you need to get for your student. The question now, should you get a laptop or a tablet?
