Paddle Out In The Marina With Mar

Posted: Updated:
Marina Del Rey, CA -

Summer is upon us and you know what that means. It's time to get out and have some fun! I'm not exactly a water adventure person, but even I couldn't resist the chance to find out what's going on in Marina Del Rey, LA's own water playground. Located near Mother's Beach, Phin's Water Sports Club is the first place ever to offer martial arts paddle boarding. In fact, Paddle Board Martial Arts is the only workout of its kind in the entire world! And you can take lessons for just $20 a class! Phin's is also the only place in the country where you can rent sculling rowing boats (the same style used by the Olympic rowing teams) by the hour. These state-of-the-art boats feature sliding seats, which means a major workout that uses all of your major muscle groups with little or no impact. And the cost? Just $25-$35 per hour.

On the other side of the marina near Fisherman's Village is where you'll find Marina Del Rey Parasailing. The great thing is that you can enjoy this unforgettable water adventure without ever getting wet! That's because there is a takeoff and landing platform right on the boat. The price is $75 per person with other packages available at higher rates.

But remember: One of the best things about living in LA is that we can enjoy all these adventures no matter what season it is. The fun is open 7 days a week, all year long!

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
