Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Get ready: SEPTA fares are going up.

On Thursday, the board approved a new fare hike, effective July 1.

Weekly and monthly transpasses will go up from $22 to $24 and $83 to $91, respectively.

At the same time, SEPTA says it plans to make the payment process a little easier for riders.

This is all in preparation for moving to a modernized fare system next year.
