Police attempt to ID 2 men caught with over 300 pounds of marijuana

Police are trying to identify two men who they say fled from officers in a vehicle containing 14 bales of marijuana on Wednesday morning.

Two men were arrested after they crashed their vehicle and tried to run from police.

Police say a white male was tased after he tried to run from officers into a neighborhood and a Hispanic male was later found hiding in a junkyard near the crash.

Both men were taken to Maricopa Medical Center for possible non-life threatening injuries.

Officers have been unable to find a record for the men because they didn't have any identification on them and the names they have given aren't in records.

Inside the vehicle were 14 bales of marijuana with an estimated weight of 317 pounds and a reported stolen handgun out of Mesa.

Police say the vehicle hasn't been reported stolen and is registered out of Phoenix.

No officers or citizens were hurt, but they are looking for two joggers who were reportedly almost struck by the vehicle between Madison and Ancon. They ask that these joggers come forward so they can add additional charges to the driver.

The men face charges of transportation of marijuana, unlawful flight from police officer and possession of stolen property.
