Shoplifting suspect leads Conyers police on chase

CONYERS, Ga. -

Authorities in Conyers say a shoplifting suspect led police on a chase on Wednesday afternoon.  

Investigators say they pursued the man, who is accused of shoplifting at a TJ Maxx store.  They say the suspect ran from police, causing several crashes before wrecking the vehicle he was in and fleeing on foot in the area of Old Covington Road and Buchanan Circle.  

Police are searching for a black male suspect about 20 to 30 years old with a slight build, approximately 5'2" tall. He was last seen wearing black Polo shirt, light denim pants, high top shoes and short hair, according to police.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Conyers police at 770-483-6600.
