In this Tech Check, we're thinking about working parents who might like to keep a little closer eye on their kids while they're at home this summer.

Imagine if you could look at a live feed of your living room—right on your smartphone or tablet.  

Thanks to the Belkin net cam, you can.  It connects right to your home Wi-Fi network.  Just place it in the room in your home that you want to monitor.  For working parents, that might be a room where your kids spend most of their time.  The camera streams 720HD video to your smartphone or tablet, and there's audio, too.

You can also use the Belkin net cam to watch your front door.  If someone is not supposed to be home, Verizon says the device will sense motion and send an alert to your smartphone.  That will allow you to pull up the video and see what's happening.

The Belkin net cam also features night vision, and it will give you good images of dark rooms.  You can even record video from your smartphone or table.

A quick search of the netcams on Amazon.com showed there are lots of these on the market right now.  You should read the reviews and see what people are saying about them before you buy.

The Belkin netcam runs about $150, and you'll need to have Wi-Fi service in your home.  It's available for both Apple and Android devices.
