Police say a man hit his wife in the head with a metal spatula during an argument on Thursday.

Andre Dupre became angry with his wife, Marithis Dupre, when she brought him home from a friend's house earlier than he wanted, a police report stated.

He allegedly yelled and pushed her repeatedly before swinging at her with a set of metal tongs with spatulas at the end. The spatula cut Marithis Dupre on the head, causing her to start bleeding.

The police report revealed that shortly before, Andre Dupre got into a physical fight with Joe Peterson, who was visiting the couple's apartment.

Peterson left and returned with police while Andre Dupre allegedly assaulted his wife.

Marithis Dupre locked herself in a bathroom, but Andre Dupre kicked the door open, wrapped his arms and legs around her and wouldn't let go until he was contacted by police, the report stated.

During an interview, the police report stated that Andre Dupre denied harming his wife, but admitted to getting physical with Peterson.

Andre Dupre was arrested and booked into jail on charges of AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, CRIMINAL DAMAGE AND UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT.
